What Happens After Your DUI?

1. Your physical driver's license is taken by officer

2. You are issued a pink temporary license that is valid for 30 days

3. Once the 30 day temporary license expires, your driving privileges will be suspended.

Don't stress! YOU have options:

You are entitled to a DMV Administrative Per Se Hearing to prevent the suspension of your
license and must request a hearing within TEN DAYS (10) of the arrest.

Option 1
Full Driving Privileges

  • Installing interlock device eliminates the 30 day hard suspension
  • Must keep interlock for minimum of six months
  • Must get SR-22 Insurance and keep it active for three years
  • Must enroll in a DUI Program Class

Option 2
Restricted Driving Privileges

  • Must serve a 30 day hard suspension
  • Must apply for a 12 month restricted license
  • Restricted license only allows you to go to and from work and to the DUI class. Nowhere else at all.
  • Must also get SR-22 Insurance and keep it active for three years.
  • Must also enroll in a DUI Program Class
