What Happens After Your DUI?
1. Your physical driver's license is taken by officer
2. You are issued a pink temporary license that is valid for 30 days
3. Once the 30 day temporary license expires, your driving privileges will be suspended.
Don't stress! YOU have options:
You are entitled to a DMV Administrative Per Se Hearing to prevent the suspension of your
license and must request a hearing within TEN DAYS (10) of the arrest. Click here to Learn More
Option 1
Full Driving Privileges
- Installing interlock device eliminates the 30 day hard suspension
- Must keep interlock for minimum of six months
- Must get SR-22 Insurance and keep it active for three years
- Must enroll in a DUI Program Class
Option 2
Restricted Driving Privileges
- Must serve a 30 day hard suspension
- Must apply for a 12 month restricted license
- Restricted license only allows you to go to and from work and to the DUI class. Nowhere else at all.
- Must also get SR-22 Insurance and keep it active for three years.
- Must also enroll in a DUI Program Class
